Terms of Service
Last updated
Plain-language ground rules for using Ship That Code. We’ve tried to keep this short and useful. The legal weight is the same.
1. The agreement
By creating an account or using shipthatcode.com ("the Service") you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.
We may update these Terms occasionally. Material changes will be announced by email and/or a banner on the site at least 14 days before they take effect.
2. Your account
You're responsible for keeping your password confidential and for everything that happens under your account. Tell us at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorized access.
One person, one account. Don't share login credentials. Don't create accounts for bots or scraping.
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you're between 13 and 18, you confirm that a parent or guardian has reviewed and accepted these Terms on your behalf.
3. Your content
Code, comments, and any other content you submit remain yours. We claim no ownership over what you write.
By submitting content, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to store, display, and process it solely to provide the Service (e.g., running your code, showing your progress, generating AI feedback if you've opted in).
You're responsible for what you submit. Don't submit content you don't have the right to share, malicious code intended to attack our infrastructure, or content that infringes someone else's rights.
4. Our content
Lesson text, problem statements, reference solutions, course structure, and the platform itself are owned by Ship That Code and licensed to you for personal, non-commercial use while your account is active.
You may not redistribute, repackage, or resell our course content. You may share what you learned and your own solutions freely.
5. Acceptable use
Don't try to break out of the sandbox, exfiltrate data, attack other users, or abuse the AI coaching feature for unrelated tasks.
We reserve the right to rate-limit, suspend, or terminate accounts that abuse the Service. We'll explain why where we can.
6. Billing (when enabled)
Free tier: free forever. No card required.
Paid tiers (when launched): billed monthly or annually via Stripe. You can cancel anytime; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. We don't issue prorated refunds for partial periods.
If a charge fails, we'll email you and pause access to paid features until it's resolved. Your free-tier access continues unaffected.
7. Termination
You can delete your account at any time from Settings. Deletion is immediate and irreversible.
We may terminate accounts for violation of these Terms, illegal activity, or extended inactivity (3+ years with no logins, only for free-tier accounts).
8. Warranty disclaimer
The Service is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We do our best to keep it running, but we can't guarantee it'll be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it'll teach you to code (that part's on you).
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our liability for any claim arising from your use of the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or $100 if you're on the free tier.
9. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where Ship That Code is incorporated. Disputes will be handled by the competent courts of that jurisdiction.
